BBC1 show McMafia has taken the TV world by storm with its storyline showing the twists and turns of a British-born son of an exiled Mafia kingpin, played by James Norton, trying to escape the criminal underworld.

But viewers haven’t just been gripped by the intense storyline.

The interiors featured on the show have also played a starring role in the TV series, with the Godman family’s central London flat kitted out in style.

The look has proved so aspirational that Brits are flocking to emulate the sets in their own homes according to online marketplace, eBay.

The website reports that deep-buttoned Chesterfield sofas have seen a surge in popularity since McMafia was first broadcast, with nearly two searches a minute for the classic British make since the show first aired on January 1.

It also reports that 40 Chesterfield sofas have been sold every day in the last three months.

Ornate chandeliers have also seen a spike in popularity thanks to McMafia, with nearly 1,200 eBay searches since the programme first aired.

Retro drinks trolleys racked up 300 searches in the same time period.
